CRIMINAL DEFENSE

GSCF lawyers defend individuals at trial in the state and federal courts facing a wide range of federal and state criminal charges, including drug distribution and trafficking, unlawful possession of firearms, larceny, robbery, kidnapping; rape, sexual assault; assault and battery, murder, motor vehicle homicide, motor vehicle offenses, and other felonies and misdemeanors.

APPEALS & POST-CONVICTIONS

We represent individuals in criminal and civil appeals in the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the Massachusetts Appeals Court, in post-conviction proceedings involving Massachusetts Rule 30 new-trial motions, federal habeas corpus and Supreme Court petitions for certiorari, and in collateral proceedings before the Parole Board, the Sex Offender Registry Board, the Registry of Motor Vehicles, and professional licensing boards.

Our attorneys represent defendants and witnesses in state and federal white collar criminal matters, ranging from grand jury investigations, pretrial proceedings, trials, sentencing and forfeiture proceedings to appeals and post-conviction litigation, in a wide range of cases involving conspiracy charges, tax fraud and tax evasion, mail and wire fraud, securities fraud, PPP fraud, computer crimes, unlawful employment and harboring of undocumented immigrants, as well cases involving regulatory crimes including alleged violations of FDA, EPA, Department of Commerce and State Department export-control regulations, and federal grant and contractor fraud and debarment.

ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT,

For more than 25 years, we have represented students and professors charged with plagiarism, improper collaboration, cheating, and other academic and honor code violations; Title IX campus sexual misconduct offenses and those accused of violating university rules and policies arising from allegations of criminal conduct such as firearms, larceny, alcohol and drug use, fake ID’s, and fraternity hazing.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH MISCONDUCT

We represent scientific researchers (professors, physicians, postdocs, graduate students) accused of research misconduct (falsifying and fabricating data, and plagiarism) before university inquiry and investigation committees and before the National Institutes of Health Office of Research Integrity (NIH-ORI) and the National Science Foundation (NSF).

FIRST AMENDMENT AND CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS

GSCF attorneys represent individuals and organizations whose First Amendment and other constitutional rights have been restricted or violated by local, state, or federal governments, including defending the free speech rights of individuals such as journalists and students, representing corporate entities seeking to protect their right to freedom of commercial speech in advertising, and representing individuals who, because of their race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, or association with disfavored political groups, have been the targets of government surveillance and harassment, or have been restricted in their ability to travel freely.
